Byrd International was established in 1995. Our corporate office is located on the lower Eastern Shore of Maryland in the historical town of Berlin, Maryland. We are surrounded by the waters of the Chesapeake Bay and the Atlantic Ocean. Maryland’s Eastern Shore has long been known for its rich history and deep traditions of the harvest and processing of blue crabs. This is where it all started. The tradition of gathering with family and friends to cook and “pick” crabs continues to this very day. Pasteurization of crab meat was developed here in the 1950’s and is time tested and proven to be the best process to maintain the crab meat color, flavor, texture and quality. Done properly, you cannot tell the difference when compared to fresh crab meat. Over the years we have expanded and taken this Eastern Shore tradition to every corner of the world for customers to enjoy.
